Honey Nut Apples with Cheese Appetizer

The easiest appetizer you MUST try!

Sometimes you just need a really good go-to appetizer recipe. You know the one—the one that will look like it came from some fancy party-planning website, the one that tastes so yummy that everyone insists that you share the recipe…the one that actually only took you about 20 minutes to put together? Yeah. That’s the one!

Cheese Appetizer

 

Ingredients:

Fuji apples, left unpeeled but sliced thinly
Slices of white cheddar cheese
Pecans
Honey

Preparation:

Chop the pecans up, but not too finely. Mix with some honey to form nut clusters. (You can pop them in the oven to toast, or leave as is!) Slice your apples thinly and arrange on a flat platter. Then place a slice of white cheddar cheese on each slice. Place a cluster of the honey-nuts on each slice, and then drizzle extra honey back and forth over the rows of apples on the platter.

The best part about this is that you can change it up, and it’s still just as easy and delicious. Use Granny Smith apple slices with brie cheese and toasted almonds on top instead. Get creative!

*Here’s a tip—if you’re slicing the apples a while before you plan to serve them, but you don’t want them to get brown, soak the apple slices in a saltwater solution (1/2 tsp. of kosher salt per cup of water) for about 10 minutes. Then drain and store until you’re ready to use!
